Monday Roundup Mix

I’m going to admit something really vulnerable to you: I am not a fan of Lana Del Rey.

Maybe it’s because my first exposure to Lana was her truly bad SNL performance in 2012, but I have tried and tried and just cannot get into her music. I tried again this past week with her latest single, “A&W.” I wouldn’t say I love this song, but I didn’t expect a beat drop half-way through and I like the line, “your mom called, I told her, ‘you’re fucking up big time,’” so I have listened to it more than once! And like it enough to include it on today’s mix!

I can respect Lana’s music and influence, but I’m just not sure it will ever be for me. I will give the new album, Did You Know There's a Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd, a listen when it’s out on March 24th and maybe this will be when I finally get on board.
