Honestly, I cannot stop thinking about the wildfires in Los Angeles (and spiraling about the climate crisis and an incoming administration that cares even less than the current one about doing a thing to address it). Mutual Aid LA Network put together a list of resources if you, like me, want to help but are unsure where to start.
I appreciate you supporting this newsletter and getting music recommendations from a human being and not an AI model that is depleting resources and emitting enormous amounts of carbon (and is honestly just bad at its job)!

I’m catching up on music I missed last year (Nick Cave, Francis of Delirium, Mk.gee, Kim Deal), and also enjoying some new things. New Bad Bunny album! New Japanese Breakfast single! New Blondshell single! New deluxe album from SZA!
Really looking forward to what’s on the horizon including (confirmed or seemingly forthcoming) albums from SASAMI, Japanese Breakfast, Lilly Hiatt, Julien Baker & TORRES, Bartees Strange, Miya Folick, Samia, Horsegirl, Blondshell, Sharon Van Etten, JADE, Rebecca Black, and Lucy Dacus. HAIM are on one festival lineup this summer, so I’m hoping we’ll see something from them! I also anticipate that Chappell Roan will seize her star moment and release a new album in 2025. Maybe the music gods will grant my wish and we’ll also get a new Robyn album?! Time will tell!
